WTC - Plano West Senior High School Team
WTC Director of Theatre
Alex Rodriguez
Mr. Rodriguez has worked in Plano ISD since 2023. Previously, he was the Head Director for the Kaufman Theatre Company at Kaufman High School in 2022, the Head Director of Lewisville High School from 2018-2022, the Associate Theatre Director at Marcus High School from 2015-2018 and the Assistant Director at John H. Guyer High School from 2012- 2015. Alex will be starting his 12th year of teaching with the 2023-2024 School year. Throughout his career, he has placed 2nd at the UIL One Act Play 4A State Competition, been a UIL State One Act Play Qualifier, 6A UIL State Alternate, multiple UIL One Act Play Region Qualifier, UIL Poetry and Prose Region/State Qualifier and finalist, and has presented multiple productions at the State Thespian Main Stage and Play Marathon.
My Why:
Providing a safe space for ALL of my students to create, discover, animate, and express themselves has always been my passion. My favorite part about Theatre, is it requires you to break down all of your barriers, truly discover yourself, and come out a stronger, more confident version of you.
WTC Technical Theatre Director
Marily Gonzalez
Ms.Gonzalez is a DFW local. She first fell in love with tech theatre at Lewisville High School. She went on to continue her theatre education at Texas State University in the heart of San Marcos. She graduated class of ‘21 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre Production. She has worked at several places in the DFW since including Trinity Valley Schools in Fort Worth as the Assistant Technical Director and The Dallas Children’s Theatre as Staff Carpenter. This past school year she was the Tech Director for Plano Senior High School. This upcoming school year she is excited to join the Wolfpack Theater at Plano West Senior High School. She is looking forward to an exciting season of theatre!
WTC Musical Director
Eric Feldman
Eric Feldman has been the Associate Choir Director at Plano West since 2023. He graduated from Texas Tech University Summa Cum Laude in December of 2022 after pursuing a double major in Music Education and Vocal Performance. During his time at Texas Tech, Mr. Feldman performed in numerous operas and musicals including: The Merry Widow, Die Zauberflöte, Gianni Schicchi, Street Scene, and A Little Night Music.
He also assisted in the creation and ogranization of Empire A Cappella, a group that advanced to the Semifinal round of ICCA in 2020 (the group's innagural year) and released an EP entitled Impulse in 2022. Mr. Feldman is a product of Plano ISD schools, having attended Mitchell Elementary School, Frankford Middle School, Shepton High School, and ultimately graduating from Plano West in 2018. In his free time, Mr. Feldman enjoys arranging music, practicing piano, and participating in community theater.

Director of Theatre - Shepton HS
Carmen McElwain
Mrs. McElwain is the Shepton Theatre Director and teaches performing actors in Shepton Players, 1A Performers, Th 2 Presenters, and Theatre 1. A Theatre Performance graduate from Abilene Christian University, she began teaching at Shepton in 1999. Mrs. Mac has a passion for performance and enjoys the opportunity to share that love with her students. She feels a strong commitment to not only helping her students grow as artists, but also as strong, confident individuals. Mrs. Mac has two daughters, Emilee & Sydnee, who keep her busy and make life lots of fun!

I am is a special education teacher with extensive experience working with students with a range of learning disabilities. I am currently serving Shepton High School as a Reading Resource Teacher, and enjoy providing my students with a wide range of reading activities that can be engaging and educational.

Steven Kalich
I am pleased to introduce myself as the Theatre Teacher at Jasper High School. With a background in Theatre from The University of Texas at Austin and a master's degree from Texas A&M University - Commerce, I bring five years of experience to our students.
My approach to theatre education is rooted in a strong belief in its transformative power. This marks my first year in the district, and I am eager to engage students in the world of theatre, encouraging growth and self-expression.
The art of theatre is a compelling vehicle for learning, allowing students to explore diverse perspectives while developing essential skills. I am committed to guiding our students on this journey, fostering an environment of focused creativity and exploration.
I look forward to a productive and enlightening year ahead, dedicated to nurturing the artistic and intellectual growth of our students through the realm of theatre.
